Abstract

The article deals with the problems of typology in higher education. Typology is characterized as a method of scientific cognition, a way of studying processes in higher education and within specific universities. Three scientific approaches taken in unity are applied — typological, community and resource. The article uses statistical data of a national and regional nature, as well as materials of an empirical study in the Ural federal district.

Abstract

The transformation of the university community in the context of the crisis of higher education has affected the state of university trade unions — the most important institution for the saving and development of social partnership in higher education. There is a decrease in the number of members of trade union organizations in universities, and confidence in its ability to represent and protect the rights and interests of university employees is decreasing. At the same time, there is an objective need for such a social institution, loyalty and involvement of a part of the scientific and pedagogical community in trade union life.

The purpose of the article is to systematize ideas about the motivation of membership of scientific and pedagogical workers in university trade unions and the conditions for its preservation in the process of transformation of the trade union movement in higher education.

The results presented in the article were obtained during the sociological study «The role of trade unions in the university community», carried out by the authors in January–March 2023 at two universities of the Ural Federal University and Surgut State Pedagogical University. The method of online survey was used, n = 271 people, the sample was random (spontaneous selection). The only selection criterion was membership in the university trade union.

The study showed the existence of discrepancies between the expectations of scientific and pedagogical workers to preserve the traditional role of the modern university trade union as a defender of the interests of workers and the real functions of trade unions, which turned out to be reduced to material and social support of employees at the expense of the potential of the trade union itself. It is shown that such a contrast of expectations and reality leads to a change in the motivation of membership of the key university community in the trade union and outflow from it. As a result, the fragmentation of the university community is increasing, intra-community ties are «thinning», the value of corporate and professional solidarity is devalued.

The article presents the results of a study focused for the first time in recent years on the problems of university trade unions of universities of the Ural Federal District related to the motivation of membership in them. The novelty also lies in a comparative analysis of the motivation of employees of two universities, differing in the history of their trade unions, the number of scientific and pedagogical staff, the status of the university, its corporate culture and a set of social problems inherent in their employees.

Abstract

In this article, an attempt is made to study the changes in the professional values of a university teacher in the conditions of transformation of the academic environment and the system of higher education. The relevance of the topic is caused by the fact that the higher education system has always been and remains one of the most important components forming society. Given the growing role of universities as a driving force for the development of regions, it is necessary to pay attention to the changes taking place in the system itself and the transformation of the goals and objectives of the university as a social institution. One of the interesting studies is the study of the impact of these changes on the hierarchy of professional values of teachers of different generations. The result is the revealed contradictions in the hierarchy of professional values of teachers of different age groups.

SOCIOLOGY OF HIGHER EDUCATION. UNIVERSITY STUDENTS AS A SOCIAL COMMUNITY

Abstract

The article considers the results of a comparative analysis of the main indicators of social well-being of students of the Khanty-M ansi Autonomous Okrug-Yugra. Social well-being is a rather "liquid" characteristic of this social group in conditions of social uncertainty. Monitoring its condition allows us to identify the relative stability of some indicators and the dynamics of changes in others. The results of such a comparative analysis are significant for the formation and actualization of scientific ideas about the functioning of such an important part of the youth of the northern region as college and university students.

The task of the article is to characterize the condition and changes in the social well-being of the students of the KhMAO-Yugra for the period from 2022 to 2023.

The article presents the results of a sociological study "Dynamics of social well-being of young people in the conditions of the North: The Ugra cross-section in the context of Russian trends", conducted in 2022–2023 by the sociologists of Surgut State Pedagogical University as part of a government assignment.

For the first time, the results of a monitoring study of the SB of students of the northern region are presented. The study showed the stability of such characteristics of Ugra youth as generalized life satisfaction and a sense of happiness. This indicates the resilience of students, that is, their ability to overcome difficulties in conditions of social, political and economic turbulence. The complication of the social context actualizes the social capital of students — family-related, friendly and neighborly ties, increases their importance as a factor of the development of students. In general, young students maintain a high level of satisfaction with the circumstances of life that depend on themselves (health, education, social relations in the immediate environment).

A more contradictory dynamics can be traced by the objective (external) living conditions of the Ugra youth: the level of positive self-assessment of the economic situation of the students' family, the possibilities of cultural and social life increases, but satisfaction with the possibilities of the leisure sphere and security decreases. The positive dynamics of the institutional trust of students as an important contextual factor of its social well-being, as well as the inconsistency of social emotions as a reflection of the mosaic of social well-being are revealed.

Abstract

The paper is devoted to the comparative analysis of assessment data of Ugra students of their own social well-being. The investigation was held in 2022 and 2023 among the students of Khanty-Mansiisky Autonomous Okrug–Ugra. The investigation was based upon the complex of indicators, including level assessment of material well-being, living conditions, education; perspectives of employment and anchoring in the region. Subjective aspect of social well-being as emotional reflection of some certain objective indicators through the prism of students’ points of view is emphasized in the article. In 2022 2358 students of the region took part in the research, in 2023–1648.

Abstract

Students are an active social group of young people adapting to the factors of the social environment. Having entered a higher educational institution, students face certain difficulties: integration into the student environment; development of a style of behavior; young people undergo social, psychological, academic adaptation. During the period of study at the university (especially in the first years of study), the personal qualities of an individual change significantly. The educational process is one of the factors of the violation of the psychological and emotional state of health of many first-year students: they have learning difficulties, they do not have a system of work during the semester, they cannot effectively allocate their time. The relevance of the topic is due to the fact that the study of students' mental health is determined by the presence of factors that create stressful situations in the student environment. It is important to study scientific sources on the topic, identify the main causes of educational stress in a group of students, its manifestations, ways to overcome stressful situations before and after the session. The research method is the analysis of scientific literature on this topic, testing, analysis of testing data. The conducted research made it possible to determine the causes, manifestations of educational stress, and ways to relieve stress.

Abstract

The appeal to the resource potential of the research practices of university students is determined by the processes of reduction in the community of Russian scientists and the problem of finding ways to resolve the contradiction between the need for scientific support for the sustainable development of the country and the restrictions on the reproduction of scientific personnel in the university environment. The purpose of the article is to search for theoretical characteristics and assess the state of the resource potential of the research activities of university students in the Middle Urals, comparison with all- Russian trends. Theoretical foundations — activity, community and resource approaches. The empirical base is the results of three mass surveys of Russian and regional students conducted between 2016 and 2022.

The structural characteristics of the resource potential of the student community's research practices are presented, and a model of their success is proposed as a result of the process of capitalization of scientific and educational knowledge. Conclusions are drawn about the presence of a sustainable resource base for the development of student and professional science within the community of scientists. The prevalence of simple student research practices that do not require significant resource support has been noted. The lag in the development of resource potential in the socio- economic and humanitarian spheres is shown. The question is raised about the place of humanitarian knowledge in the natural sciences and engineering sectors of modern university education.

Abstract

The problem of employment of university graduates is one of the most urgent both for graduates and universities themselves, and for employers. Graduates demonstrate theoretical knowledge, skills and abilities formed at the university during their employment. While the labor market imposes its own requirements for an employee for a specific workplace with specific skills and practical experience. The solution to the problem of employment has a long history, reveals the difficulties in finding a job that arise among young professionals. The relevance of studying this issue is due to the presence of the problem of mutually beneficial proposals between the graduate and the employer. In this regard, the purpose of the study is to study the opinions of graduates regarding employment prospects that contribute to achieving professional success and career growth. The results of the study conducted among undergraduates of Tyumen Industrial University pointed to the importance of the formation of professional competencies and the need for continuous professional self-improvement.

Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of the concept "image" in modern scientific literature, its role in the formation of the corporate image of the university in terms of competition in the market of educational services and improving the quality of education. The aim of the research was to analyze the higher education students' evaluations of the faculty's image. An online questionnaire survey of 106 students was conducted. The respondents were asked to evaluate the teachers' image according to several main components of individual image. The results of the study showed that, in general, students rated the components of teachers' image quite highly. The study showed some shortcomings in the kinetic and olfactory components of the image, revealed some barriers related to the perception and assimilation of information by students due to the inconsistency of the teacher's image with their perceptions. Based on the students' visual assessments, a characterization of the ideal perception of a teacher's image among today's students is given. The presented materials can be used for making managerial decisions regarding the development of the corporate image of higher education institutions.

SOCIOLOGY OF YOUTH

Abstract

The article provides information on how today's schoolchildren build their educational and professional strategy in the industrial sector. The purpose of this article is to identify the attitudes of students of educational organizations to work in the industrial sector of the economy. The survey method, including questionnaires, and literature analysis were used as methods for collecting information. The results of the study showed that the industrial sector is not attractive to the younger generation. One of the reasons is the complexity of industrial professions. The second reason is the lack of a clear, structured awareness of schoolchildren about industrial professions. Thus, the scientific novelty of this topic is more relevant than ever in view of the fact that many large industrial enterprises are experiencing an acute shortage of personnel. The regional labor market is in great need of skilled workers, and schoolchildren, in turn, choose professions, completely not focusing on market demand.

Abstract

Social activity is a key condition for the realization and formation of youth as the main guarantor and resource necessary for the further existence and development of society. The activity of young people is greatly influenced by the global changes that humanity faced at the end of 2019, which transformed the way of life, making previously habitual activities impossible due to the restrictions imposed in the form of social distance and lockdown, and allowed, in turn, to actualize the topic of social activity of young people through the prism of a pandemic and a post-pandemic.

The chosen topic is interdisciplinary, which determines the approach to its study, analysis and interpretation of specific features of a regional nature. Based on the questionnaire data in the student groups of Tyumen Industrial University, conducted in the fall of 2022 using Internet platform, the authors identified factors affecting social activity in conditions of self-isolation; described the difficulties that arose during the lockdown and affected the social activity of young people; we interpreted and analyzed the data obtained, concluding that the adaptation state of a person to non-specific conditions for him (lockdown and self-isolation) can be beneficial, a person acquires new knowledge and skills that are so necessary in transforming conditions. The new format of social activity of young people can be consistently built into a promising existential paradigm, accompanied by a continuous process of self-development, without harming their health.

Abstract

The article considers subjective factors of social well-being of young workers in the field of education and science of the northern region. The information base was the results of a study of the social well-being of working youth, conducted in the spring of 2022 by employees of the Regional Research Laboratory of the Surgut State Pedagogical University. Khanty- Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug — Yugra is characterized by fairly high indicators of socio-economic development, which in turn should be reflected in the level of social well-being of its residents. However, the results of the study show that workers in the field of education and science are not satisfied with many aspects of their lives. The lowest ratings were given to satisfaction with their health and the economic situation of their family, as well as other related indicators: the level of medical care, conditions of cultural consumption (theaters, museums, libraries, etc.), conditions for leisure (sports, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, entertainment, etc.), the state of the environment (environmental conditions life).

Abstract

Voluntary childlessness is ambiguously perceived in society, especially in the fourth state family and demographic policy, as one of the key tasks that contribute to increasing the birth rate, unconditional support for motherhood and childhood, families with children, and large families.

We do not preserve the essence of voluntary childlessness, its degree of prevalence, undefined varieties, there is not sufficient information about the attitude of various socio- demographic groups to the development of the phenomenon, we do not make forecasts about its transformation.

To do this, we conducted a sociological study, which used various methods of collecting primary information (interviews, questionnaires, content analysis, etc.)

SOCIOLOGY AND SOCIAL WORK

151-162 114
Abstract

The article is devoted to the consideration of the problem of social and professional adaptation of employees of social institutions. Based on the analysis of scientific works devoted to the study of this issue, the need for a comprehensive consideration of this phenomenon was determined, as well as conducting a sociological study that allows us to diagnose the level of adaptive potential of social workers, taking into account the organizational and managerial system of a social institution and the specifics of social work as a professional activity. Based on the analysis of the results of a sociological study among employees of a social institution, a description of the professional- adaptive state of respondents is given; the main factors that have both a negative and a positive impact on the success of adaptation in a particular institution have been identified; problems that require special attention from management are highlighted. Based on the results obtained, recommendations can be developed for the prevention of professional maladaptation of employees working in social sector institutions.

Abstract

The relevance of the issue is due to the need to develop a common culture of citizens safety. The implementation of this task is considered through the integration of occupational health science with modern research, through the transformation of the methodological support of the process of training employees in the field of labor safety.

The purpose of this article is to identify and substantiate a new methodological basis in the construction of a system of occupational safety internships for employees.

Materials and methods. The solution to this problem is to ensure the unity of the theoretical and practical aspects of training on labor protection, by building a consistent multi-level methodological basis for practical training of employees on labor protection.

Results and discussion of results. It seems to the authors that one of the possible strategies for the implementation of modern training can be a system of internships designed on new methodological grounds: systemic, synergistic, resource, activity approaches — at the strategic level of the methodology; context-competence, participatory approaches and theory of individualization of education — at the tactical level; the principles of andragogy, the balance of interiorization and extriorization of knowledge, the mismatch of periods of individual-age and socio-professional development of a person.

New methodological grounds for organizing internships would be useful for methodologists of training centers, corporate universities, teachers of professional education, heads of employee career development departments, and research teachers.

Abstract

The article, based on the analysis of scientific works in the chosen direction (A. V. Fedorov, I. V. Zhilavskaya, E. A. Bondarenko, N. F. Khilko, I. A. Fateeva, etc.), gives a brief description of the main views on the essence and prospects of the development of Russian media education. The author of the article comes to the conclusion that currently there is no unity in the scientific community in understanding and interpretation of this aspect of the problem. In this regard, it is relevant to study the opinions of practicing journalists and students studying in the field of Journalism regarding those problematic issues that have formed within the media community, and those areas in which domestic media education should develop, taking into account the identified problems. About 200 people were interviewed (questionnaire method), a number of contradictions in the journalists' vision of the current situation in the media field were revealed, and the main directions for the formation of a holistic media personality were identified.

Abstract

On the threshold of empirical research of the syndrome of deferred life on the example of migration attitudes of residents of remote regions, the hypothesis is put forward and discussed, which suggests that the mechanism of temporal decentration of psychological perception of social time lies at the heart of the studied syndrome. The conditions under which temporal decentration for the future turns from a quite normal phenomenon into a distorted version of social time perception are defined. Social time is presented in its difference from physical time, its qualitative uniqueness and multidimensionality are emphasized, manifested in the unity of cyclic and linear time, its discontinuity and continuity, the connection between everyday life and life events. The realization of migration plans seems to be an event capable of interrupting the established course of everyday life, its cardinal transformation and leads to the underestimation of the present as a temporary transient phenomenon. The ability to live in the present is a condition of psychological health of a person, while the syndrome of deferred life can lead to maladaptation and neurotic reactions to current problems. The sociological interpretation of the variant of social time perception with fixation on the future is concretized (based on the works of V. P. Serkin) as a set of social attitudes characteristic of social groups that live in expectation of an event that changes their territorial identity.

Abstract

Globalization and integration changes in society, the prevailing role of knowledge and creative approach to the organization of business processes have led to the formation of creative sociology, the functioning of which is based on the use of innovative technologies and creativity, skills, abilities of individuals. Currently, it exists in developed countries, which are distinguished by a high level of economic development, the level of income of the population, the active use of various technologies, the commercialization of ideas that are created in the research field and spread to all spheres of management. Taking into account the integration processes that are characteristic of the current stage of social development, we can assume a high probability of occurrence of this phenomenon in developing countries, which determines the relevance of this study.

The purpose of the article is to study the phenomenon of creative sociology and propose a new participant, namely, a creative cluster business ecosystem.

When writing the work, materials of articles in periodicals, as well as Internet data were used.

As a methodology, it is necessary to highlight the analysis of resources corresponding to the research topic, synthesis and generalization of the data obtained.

The results of the work include a detailed analysis of the theoretical and methodological foundations and the history of the formation of creative sociology, its role, as well as the proposal of a new participant, whose activities will improve the efficiency of its functioning.

The authors propose a periodization of the evolution of the development of the creative industry in the socio-cultural sphere based on a detailed analysis of the concepts on which it is based, the proposal of a new participant.

Abstract

The paper is devoted to the semantic analysis of the stereotypical images of some certain ethnic groups. The research task is to define some key attributive groups — nuclear of these stereotypical images and to reveal ethnophaulisms in the structure of the images as the markers of the hate speech. The elements of the associative experiment were used as research method. As a result, the author highlights student youth’s stereotypical images of certain ethnic groups, in which some ethnophaulisms of all-Russian conveyance as the markers of hate speech typical for everyday discourse are revealed. The author concludes that the expressive ethnonyms are not included in active student youth’s vocabulary, the cases of their usage are based upon some social stereotypes, are used unconsciously mostly, not to insult a representative of alien ethnos. Moreover, their usage is not always proportional to a negative image of ethnos in respondents’ consciousness.

Abstract

The article is devoted to the description of the socio-d emographic characteristics of an active member of the polyamorous community, whose views contradict the traditional family values of Russian society and therefore pose a certain threat to Russians, especially young people. Hence the need to study this community in order to control it from both the state and civil society. The immediate purpose of the work is to compile and describe a social portrait of an active member of the polyamore community on the Telegram platform. A questionnaire survey was used as the main research method. The authors conclude that an active participant in the community is a 25–34-yearold woman with a higher education, who is in an unregistered relationship, is either a specialist, or has her own business / works for herself, lives on the territory of Russia in a megalopolis.

It is also concluded that at the moment the territories most saturated with representatives of the community, ready for social interactions and acquaintances, are Moscow, the Moscow region and St. Petersburg. It should be noted that, despite the fact that the community is declared as Russian, in general it goes beyond the territorial borders of Russia. It includes participants from CIS countries, neighboring countries, and some European countries. To a greater extent, this is due to the emigration of polyamores, while maintaining their status within the community in Russia.

Abstract

The comprehension of the phenomenon of identity, the establishment of the starting points for the development of the concept of identity are the priority directions of the development of modern sociological theory. However, the interdisciplinary approach of modern socio-humanitarian knowledge in relation to the studied object causes fragmentation and blurring of the concept, which complicates its substantive and structural-logical measurement. The purpose of this article is to theoretically analyze the concepts of identity, clarify the conceptual and categorical apparatus and highlight the basic characteristics for the sociological understanding of identity. It is stated that the focus of sociological research has shifted from identifying the importance of the system of social structure in the processes of formation of human subjectivity as determinants of social integration, consolidation and solidarity to the transformation of the modalities of modern identity as a product of the production of difference and exclusion, overcoming its crisis and fragmentation.
