Abstract
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of an augmented reality (AR) project on the academic motivation of students majoring in pedagogy and preparing for the study of the history of pedagogy. This article describes the results of a study conducted at Surgut State Pedagogical University. The study involved developing a “Virtual Museum of Pedagogy” project using augmented reality technology. The research’s novelty lies in identifying and experimentally validating the effectiveness of AR technology in enhancing the intrinsic academic motivation of students majoring in pedagogy and in developing a methodological framework for using AR technology in teaching history and pedagogy. The study found that organizing students’ project-based activities using elements of augmented reality contributes to increased intrinsic motivation, as evidenced by increases in intrinsic motivation, cognitive motivation, and self-esteem.
