Abstract
The lecture is and still is the leading and most effective form of education at the university, which is difficult to find an alternative. However, didactics have long raised the issue of the need to increase the motivation of students in lecture classes. Hence, the goal of the article is to consider the practical use of interactive methods for increasing the cognitive activity of students at lectures. The article provides an overview of the use of active lecture forms in higher education, gives recommendations for their use. The assumption that the use of new lecture forms contributes to the modernization of the traditional form of teaching at the university, overcoming its one-way orientation and establishing feedback from the student to the teacher has been substantiated. All this will eventually increase their motivation to educational and professional activities and will allow overcoming the shortcomings of lecture methods.
