Author Guidelines

1. General provisions

1.1. The editorial board of the journal "Bulletin of Surgut State Pedagogical University" accepts for consideration materials that meet the profile of the publication, not previously published in other scientific journals and on the Internet. The materials sent to the editorial office should be original scientific articles, scientific reviews, scientific reviews, reviews, the main results of dissertation research for the degree of candidate of sciences, for the degree of Doctor of Sciences. To confirm this requirement, we recommend that the author of the article fill out the form of the corresponding obligation (see Appendix).

1.2. The Journal publishes materials in accordance with the relevant headings:

  • in the field of pedagogical sciences: theory and methodology of vocational education;
  • in the field of historical sciences: Russian history;
  • in the field of sociological sciences: social structure, social institutions and processes.

1.3. Periodicity of publication: published 6 times a year and distributed on the territory of the Russian Federation Federation.

1.4. The editorial board of the journal "Bulletin of Surgut State Pedagogical University" in the process of reviewing the publication of articles is guided by the norms of international and Russian legislation, ethical standards adopted by the international community (Committee of Publication Ethics), as well as the principles of independence, integrity and responsibility of editors and reviewers.

1.5. The transfer of materials by the author to the publication is considered as a voluntary, gratuitous and indefinite transfer of rights to the work to the scientific journal "Bulletin of the Surgut State Pedagogical University".

 

2. Acceptance of scientific articles for publication

2.1. Articles are accepted for consideration in strict compliance with the requirements for the original author's articles and the availability of all accompanying documents (information about the authors, copyright obligation, review of the supervisor for graduate students).

2.2. The grounds for including an article in the journal are:

  • compliance with the rules for submitting manuscripts, information about authors and requirements for their registration;
  • the originality of the submitted materials: it must be at least 75% (the editorial board checks the articles using the Anti-Plagiarism service);
  • a positive review by an independent reviewer determined by the editorial board of the journal.

2.3. It is necessary to attach reviews to the articles of graduate students-recommendations of scientific supervisors on the expediency of publishing the article.

2.4. The authors are responsible for the content of the article, for the originality, objectivity and validity of the published materials, for the reliability of the results, the absence of plagiarism / falsification, for the correctness of references to the cited works.

2.5. The journal has a limit on the possible number of articles by one author in one in the issue of the journal - up to one article made individually, and up to two articles made in co-authorship.

2.6. The editorial board reserves the right to edit the text of the article (minor stylistic and formal corrections, minor changes that do not change the essence of the publication, editing is carried out without the consent of the authors) or rejection of materials from publication. If more serious corrections are needed, the edit is agreed with the authors or the article is sent to the authors for revision. The corrected manuscript (electronic version) must be returned to the editorial office within 14 days and re-sent for review.

 

3. Review of scientific articles submitted to the editorial office

3.1. The editorial board of the journal "Bulletin of the Surgut State Pedagogical University" reviews all materials submitted to the editorial office that correspond to its subject matter for the purpose of their expert evaluation. All reviewers are recognized experts on the subject of peer-reviewed materials and have had publications on the subject of the reviewed article for the last 3 years. The editorial board determines the compliance of the article with the profile of the journal, the requirements for registration and sends it for review to a specialist, doctor or candidate of sciences who has the closest scientific specialization to the topic of the article. The reviewer cannot be the author or co-author of the reviewed manuscript. The terms of reviewing in each individual case are determined taking into account the creation of conditions for the most expeditious publication of the article, but are no more than 30 days. The review is blind.

3.2. Reviews are kept in the publishing house and in the editorial office of the publication for 5 years. The editorial board of the scientific journal sends the authors of the submitted materials copies of the reviews in electronic form in case of a reasoned refusal to publish the article. The editorial board also undertakes to send copies of reviews to the Higher Attestation Commission and/or the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation upon receipt of a corresponding request to the editorial office of the publication.

3.3. Unpublished manuscripts are not used for personal purposes and are not transferred to third parties in whole or in part without the written consent of the author.

3.4. Since June 1, 2016, the electronic version of the journal has been provided free of charge to the authors of published materials. The printed version can be obtained by issuing a semi-annual subscription.

3.5. Each published article is assigned a discrete object identifier (DOI) (a standard for designating information about an object presented on the network).

 

4. Requirements for materials and manuscripts

4.1. Articles and electronic versions of all necessary documents (information about the author/authors, review-recommendation of the supervisor, etc.) are sent in separate files to the editorial office of the journal by e-mail to: vestnik@surgpu.ru . When sending materials by e-mail, in the "subject" line, specify: "Article to the journal".

4.2 In the information about the author / authors in Russian and English, the following are indicated:

  • surname, first name, patronymic (in full);
  • academic degree (in full, without abbreviations, indicating the specialty in which the dissertation was defended and the main directions of scientific research);
  • academic title;
  • position and place of work (without abbreviations; the name of the organization must match the name in the Charter of the organization);
  • address with zip code;
  • contact information: phone numbers (work, home, cell), email address.

Rules for the design of the manuscript of the article

Electronic copy

The electronic version of the article is executed in the Microsoft Word text editor and saved with the doc extension. The author's surname is indicated as the file name in Russian letters (for example: Ivanov_doc.).

Typeface (font)

Times New Roman, size - 14 pt.

Formatting the main text

Paragraph indentation – 1 cm. The line spacing is one and a half. Width alignment.

All fields are 2 cm. Without compaction and manual transfers.

The design of the article

Text structure:

  • UDC and BBK indexes with left alignment;
  • information about the author/authors: initials and surname (with left alignment in capital letters) in Russian and English;
  • the title of the article (in capital letters with center alignment) in Russian and English;
  • the abstract of the article (volume - from 500 to 1800 characters with spaces) is placed after the title of the article in Russian and English (the word "abstract" is not written) with mandatory components: "Introduction", "Purpose", "Material and methods" and "Results and scientific novelty"–
  • keywords for the content of the article are placed after the annotation with the title "Keywords" (up to 8 words in Russian and English are specified);
  • the main text of the article should include the following sections: Introduction; Purpose; Materials and methods; Results and discussion of results; Conclusions. In the article it is necessary to indicate the relevance and novelty of the research. The volume of the article is 15-40 thousand characters;
  • the literature must be presented in Russian with an English translation (the requirements for the list of references are listed below).

It is not allowed to insert page breaks, sections, etc.

Notes. Abbreviations. Links. Quotes

Notes, comments and explanations to the text of the article are given in the form of page-by-page footnotes.

Abbreviations introduced into the article (except for well-known ones), abbreviations of organizations, names of tests, questionnaires, symbols, etc. should be deciphered immediately after the first mention.

References to primary sources are given in the text of the article. At the end of the sentence, they are enclosed in square brackets indicating the number of the source from the bibliographic list and the page, for example: ...about the advantages of the activity approach [3, p. 52]. If several sources are referenced, they are listed in ascending order of numbers in the list of references separated by commas, for example: [3, pp. 29-28; 5, 12].

References to works in print are not allowed.

Quotes are enclosed in quotation marks, for example: "...a decision was definitely made to implement the competence approach at the university" [7, p. 21]. In square brackets, the number of the source is indicated first, after the comma – the number of the page from which the quote is taken.

Requirements for the list of references

The list of references (included in the total volume of the article) should be indicated by the word "Literature", placed at the end of the article.

Quantitative requirements: no less than 7 and no more than 15 for the article, for the review - no more than 30.

Quality requirements: it is advisable to mention the work of not only students, but also foreign; not included in the list of references manuals, if it is not justified

the purpose of the research, scientific papers, which are not related to the topic of the research, the degree of limitation of literary sources should not exceed 10 years, except for the lack of similar sources for this period, so, in particular, are a classic no reprints.

Ethical requirements: self-citation of the author is allowed for no more than 30% of all sources from the list of references, the novelty of the research is mandatory if it is based on works previously published by the author himself.

Tables. Drawings. Illustrations. Charts

All tables, figures, diagrams and other graphic objects are placed strictly within the specified fields with a width of 12.5 cm, the size of the pin is 10 pt, the line spacing is single.

Tables (no more than 10 columns) must have a meaningful name.

Both tables and figures should be numbered if there are several of them. The notes to the tables explain all abbreviations or designations. The text of the article should contain links to tables and figures after the first mention, for example: (Table. 1), (fig. 3).

The illustrations in the article should be clear, graphs and diagrams should be signed, each coordinate axis should have a name or units of measurement.

 

5. Publication of articles

5.1. After the decision of the Editorial Board on the admission of the article to publication, the person responsible for the issue of the journal informs the author about it and specifies the publication dates.

5.2. The Editorial Board does not enter into a discussion with the authors of rejected articles.

5.3. Publication is free of charge.

5.4. Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The manuscripts are accepted if has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere.

  2. The materials should be prepared in a format OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or World Perfect.

  3. Internet links are provided as a complete URL. 

  4. Text should be typed with an interval of one and a half line spacing, font Times New Roman, 14 pt; to highlight the accents it is recommended to use italics rather than underlining (except Internet links). All images, graphics and tables are placed within the text according to the meaning of the particular part of text  (and not at the end of the document).

  5. Text should follow the stylistic and bibliography requirements as stated in  Regulations  located in the Part "About Us." 

  6. Please, remove the authors' names from the title of the article and other parts of the document to ensure the  anonymity of reviewing.

Authors who publish with this journal agree to the following terms:

  1. Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.
  2. Authors are able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgement of its initial publication in this journal.
