From the Pacific Ocean to the Urals: Siberian Rivers as Communication Routes in Modern Historical Research

Abstract
Автором проанализирован широкий спектр современных публикаций сибирских историков, посвященных вопросам изучения проектирования, создания и освоения водных коммуникаций в Сибири в период с середины XVIII до начала XX в. Цель — представить историографический обзор по теме исследования. Выявлены основные темы и сюжеты, которые нашли отражение в современных исторических исследованиях. К наиболее проработанным проблемам относятся проекты Обь-Иртышского соединительного канала и Северного морского пути. Ряд исследований посвящен анализу вклада общественности в изучение речных ресурсов и их применение в качестве транспортных артерий. Достаточно хорошо изучен процесс эволюции транспортных коммуникаций и водного транспорта в Сибири во второй половине XIX — начале XX в. В качестве источниковой базы исследователи используют неопубликованные документы федеральных и региональных архивов, местную периодическую печать, делопроизводственные документы, мемуары и т.п.
