Building Digital Literacy University Students: Competence-Based Approach

Abstract
Dramatic social changes have a serious impact on the state of the labor market and give rise to new requirements for the creation of a cluster of professional competencies of a university graduate. The introduction of digital technologies firmly covers all spheres of human life, including the education system, identifying the formation of digital literacy of the population as an urgent problem of our time. In this regard, the educational process should develop digital literacy in students for professional activities. The authors of the article, based on an analysis of scientific approaches, provided a meaningful clarification of the concepts of «digital literacy» and «digital competencies”. The results of the sociological study made it possible to identify the real situation regarding the development of digital literacy among students of Tyumen Industrial University, to assess their readiness to use digital technologies in the learning process and in practice in order to increase the level of digital literacy.
